On Friday Brittney and I decided to make a two hour trek to a place called Sombrio Beach. It's just a little bit south of Port Renfrew and about a one hour drive past Sooke. It. Was. Amazing. I don't think I've ever been somewhere as beautiful as this place. To get to the beach you walk down a forested trail that emerges onto a gorgeous beach. It was breath taking! There were surfers in the water riding some of the bigger waves and a few families scattered along the shore. Brittney and I walked along the rocks until we couldn't walk any further. We had initially planned on hiking in the forest, but once we saw the beach we decided to just walk along, take some pictures and admire the beauty. I can't wait for more beautiful weather so there can be more adventures just like this one!

long overdue...
Why hello there! Long time no see! I know this is my excuse for everything but school really has been very busy! Midterms, papers, quizzes, assignments, there has been a lot going on.
Anyway, here are some photos I took while I was home for reading break a couple of weeks ago. I'm still learning how to use my film camera so please excuse the gnarly colouring in some of the pictures... All of these were taken on a very windy day at Crescent Beach, one of my most favourite places on earth!
Although we're a few days in to March, which should mean spring is on its way, it certainly doesn't feel like it. Two days ago snow covered the ground at home while Victoria was getting pounded with rain. Since then the rain has not let up and everything has a soggy feel to it. I am definitely ready for some clear, warm weather! Hope your week treats you well! Tomorrow is Wednesday which is halfway through the week, so basically the week is almost done!
Summer Lovin
Could I have come up with a more cliche title?!
Anyway... I found a roll of film from a day at the beach with my sister this past summer and I had the photos developed today! Isn't she just the cutest!
In other news, the weather here has been beautiful these past few weeks and I'm getting quite excited for Christmas! Decorations are up, the music is on and... the fleas are here... wait... what?! Yep, that's right. We have fleas. Tiny little black dots of pure stupidity. I hate them. They are gross and stupid and yucky! I don't know about you, but I am not one who enjoys sharing my home with tiny little demons that suck your blood while you sleep. I hadn't been too concerned about it until I actually saw one jump at me. That put me over the edge. We are on a full force flea-be-gone mission as of now. The vacuum, the baking powder, the salt, the dishwasher soap mix, laundry, it's all on. These fleas will not be here for long.
Wish us luck!
Folk Fest 2013
This weekend I got to go to the Folk Fest! It's a music festival at Jericho Beach in Vancouver that takes place every summer. I've been a few times but I think this year was definitely my favourite. In previous years it's been a family affair with mom, dad, Zoe, my aunt and my uncle. But this year it was just me and my aunt and my uncle. I loved it! I don't see them very often so it was great to get to spend a whole day with them! There was a ton of great food, amazing vendors selling all sorts of different stuff and absolutely fantabulous music playing all day long! By far, one of the best days of my summer!
a weekend for the books
This weekend was the best weekend I've had in a long time. The weather was absolutely spectacular and I got so much done!
I started the weekend off by painting my room on Friday night and spending some time with some friends. Saturday consisted of putting my freshly painted room back in order, basking in the sun in the backyard and having friends for dinner. Sunday I washed and cleaned my car, went to a few nurseries with my mom and spent some more time in the sun. Together, our family went down to the beach to enjoy the sunset and get gelato from the best place on the beach!
Birthday Bike
This weekend, along with being Easter weekend (chocolate and jelly beansssss!) is also my mom's birthday! In honour of the anniversary of my mother's birth we usually do something as a family. For the past couple of years this has been taking a ride around the beautiful sea wall! Last year mom got a beautiful cruiser and named it Clementine. Since her bike is the nicest, we strap it to the back of the car and the rest of us rent! The weather is beautiful and the scenery can't be beat. Today, we finished off the day with dinner in Gastown and I ended my day with a nasty reaction to all the cheese in my dinner... Oh the price we pay for good food.
beautiful [procrastination] weather!
I don't really have anything interesting to say other than the weather is fantastic. Cold, but beautiful.
Finals are approaching and I am procrastinating studying like no other. Exercise, tv, movies, Sims, crafts, pinning, cleaning, eating, you name it, I'm doing it.
A couple of important birthdays are coming up too so I'm getting ready for thooose.
I'm really just writing this as another way to procrastinate so I should probably get back to the books. I hope that wherever you are the weather is as nice there as it is here!
Beach Walk
There is nothing like going for a walk along the beach on a beautiful afternoon with people you love! Zoe and I had been sitting inside all day working on homework [and maybe playing some Sims...] so we decided to seize the beautiful day and go for a walk! We blasted Tegan and Sara on the way down and spent the rest of the time walking and laughing and chatting! It was a great time!
