On Friday Brittney and I decided to make a two hour trek to a place called Sombrio Beach. It's just a little bit south of Port Renfrew and about a one hour drive past Sooke. It. Was. Amazing. I don't think I've ever been somewhere as beautiful as this place. To get to the beach you walk down a forested trail that emerges onto a gorgeous beach. It was breath taking! There were surfers in the water riding some of the bigger waves and a few families scattered along the shore. Brittney and I walked along the rocks until we couldn't walk any further. We had initially planned on hiking in the forest, but once we saw the beach we decided to just walk along, take some pictures and admire the beauty. I can't wait for more beautiful weather so there can be more adventures just like this one!

let the sun in!
after a weekend of nothing but rain, the sun that is currently streaming through our windows is so fantastic!
Tea Time

Hello friends :)
How are y'all? I'm pretty good. Just been chillin, studying, writing paper after paper and seeing a few friends in between! Last weekend my friend Paige came to visit! It was great! Short, but so fun! We packed so much into a day and a half and had such a good time! Making friends is not something that comes easily to me. It takes a lot of work to work up the courage to say hello to new people and courage is not something I've had a lot of lately... So it was GREAT when our moms (who have been friends for quite some time I might add) finally introduced us!
I hope everyone is well and staying cozy & warm :)
PS the weather was chilly and a lil rainy today - hence the tea time pictures

I'm Baaaack
Why hello there :)
It's been awhile... as in three months awhile...
I could go into a long winded explanation as to why I've been absent for so long but rather than dwell on the past I am going to jump right into now and the future!
I've started back at school working towards my psych degree. Slightly different than what I had planned for in the summer but I think it's for the best. I'm living in a great apartment with lots of windows, a huge improvement from where I was last year. I'm working on making more friends but it can be tough. I've made one really great new friend who is coming to visit me next weekend for Halloween! Zoe came and visited this weekend and it was great! We had so much fun together and I can't wait for her to come back again soon!
Which is what I will be doing too. However, I want this blog to be slightly different than what it has been in the past. I read a lot of other blogs and often find myself getting jealous of their picture perfect lives. I'm 100% positive that their lives aren't perfect, that they're just sharing the great stuff but it can be harder to relate to. Some of the best blogs I read are the ones where the authors talk about the bad stuff as well as the great stuff. They don't have to go into detail but just by acknowledging that the bad stuff can be bad and life isn't always great and that they're working really hard to survive and provide makes them more relatable and enjoyable to read. So that is my aim with this. To share the good and the not so good. I don't want this to become a blog about me posting things in a self-centred my-life-is-perfect kind of way. I simply want to share what is happening in my life in a few photographs and sentences so I can look back and really remember what was going on. Not the sugar coated version, but the real life version.
SO now that I have written my longest post ever I think I'll leave it there. Hope you have a great week and I'll be seeing you again soon :)
Home.
I'm home! And have been for quite some time now.. Life has gotten relatively busy and I'm ok with that! Within the first couple days of being home I became employed and have been working at an insurance company for two weeks. The work itself is pretty boring but it's all to support the cause... Europe 2013!!
Hope you're having a good summer so far and are able to enjoy all the sunshine!
Rain drops keep falling on my head....
but not actually.. That would mean being outside. A somewhat foreign concept during the finals season.
Finals Week
Last weekend I was home for a combination of Easter Weekend and my mom's birthday. It was gorgeous the whole time and I spent much of it outside!
Now I am back at school studying for finals inside while the rain is pouring outside my window.
Hope y'all have a good weekend and that the weather isn't gettin ya down!
March is busy!
stove-popped popcorn: the best kind there is!
a sad little birthday cupcake that didn't quite make it...
most exciting (and satisfying) meal I have made in the 7 months I have been at school.
Sorry, sorry, sorry. I have been busy with school and family and life and have been neglectful of letting you know the happenings of my busy life. March is a busy month, with lots of birthdays, end of school exams, papers yaddayaddayadda, planning for summer and trying to stay focused on the stuff that needs to get done (ie stu-dying).
Although I am busy I'm making sure that I eat relatively well. I've been exercising more and am trying not to cancel out all my hard work with crap food so I've been trying to be a bit more healthy. Although the cupcake begs to differ, I swear I'm being better than I have been..
Hope y'all are good and life and the weather aren't gettin ya down!
Mount Doug
This weekend Brittney and I went on a hike! We climbed the biggest mountain in the world! Well not actually but it sure felt like it part way through... Both of us are slightly out of shape so parts of the climb were rough but for the most part we totally conquered it! When we got to the top we reveled in our accomplishment took some pics and admired the view. It was super windy and a bit rainy so we didn't stay up there long but we loved it while it lasted!
Family Weekend
This weekend, in honour of BC's first Family Day, my sister came to visit me! Even though I had a lot of studying to do and was getting over a cold we still managed to have a great time. We went on night drives, went shopping, ate more crap than I have eaten in a looong time and spent some good quality time chillin in my bed watching the Grammy's and Gilmore Girls.
Hope everyone else had a great weekend and spent this wonderful holiday with family!
